The history of our family business has many chapters. Each with their added value and evolution, from the very beginning in 1932 to where we are today. We are proud of how we have evolved and how the family values, where it all began, are still the common thread in our way of working.
The very beginning in 1932
More than 90 years ago, Kamiel Verstraete took his first steps as an independent electrician. His most important years were those just after World War II, when he helped rebuild and electrify the most remote areas as an independent electrician. In 1969, he founded a company together with his son Geert.
To date
Currently, Verstraete Enterprises has more than 250 employees. With three branches and six depots spread over Flanders and northern France, we can call ourselves an established value and important player in the infrastructure market.

We are a leading player in the market and continue to invest in the continuity of our company. We do this in a sustainable way with a clear mission and vision. Our long-term vision helps us maintain quality, both in the work environment we offer and in the delivery of our projects.
Towards our customers, we consider it important to be a reliable partner who listens attentively and thinks along with them. We find it important to offer the best solution to problems and challenges in the field of electrical engineering and utility infrastructure. In this way, we can assure every customer of the necessary comfort.

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, we were present at the Technoboost edition in Izegem. This event offered an excellent opportunity to inform young people and their teachers about the possibilities within our company, both in terms of internships and future jobs.
In 2024 we again participated in the whale fishing sloop race, this time with two teams. During the exciting open final our teams achieved 5th and 10th place respectively. We are particularly proud of their excellent efforts!
November 4, 2024, the third edition of the Job and Training Fair took place at the COREtec Dôme organized by VDAB, the Economic House Ostend and Filou Ostend
On Oct. 17, 2024, the Youca Action Day took place, a wonderful initiative that gives young people the opportunity to spend a day working with a company. The goal is to raise money for projects fighting for a more just society. I was given the unique opportunity to work with my dad for one day at Verstraete Enterprises. I was really looking forward to this.
The future belongs to the youth and Technoboost in Torhout was an excellent opportunity for them as well as for our company! It was an opportunity for us to motivate young people for a technical ob.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Light Infra organized a training day for apprentices in Herentals in collaboration with RTC Antwerp for the 2nd time.
An employee satisfaction survey was conducted in October 2024 in cooperation with the HR department as part of a training project. The survey was completed by both blue and white collar workers, which provided a balanced picture of the work environment.
The first edition of our summer festival took place on Friday, September 6, 2024, an event that was received with great enthusiasm.
